Creative Health Cartography Workbook

$24.00

Most creativity advice ignores the part where your body, your mental health, or your circumstances are shaping what you can make, how you make it, and whether you show up at all. This workbook does not ignore that part. It goes straight there. The Creative Health Cartography Workbook guides you through all six areas where health and creativity intersect: your process, your medium, your content, your capacity, your identity as a maker, and the business of sustaining the work. For each one, you will find context, reflection prompts, self-assessment, and space to actually work through what is true for you…

You already know that health affects your creative life. What you may not have is a framework for understanding exactly how, or a structured way to work through it on your own terms. This workbook helps!

The Creative Health Cartography Workbook was built for artists, writers, and makers who are navigating the real and complicated intersection of health and creative practice. Not the inspirational version of that intersection. The actual one: where chronic illness changes what mediums are accessible, where mental health shapes what you can bring yourself to make, where financial pressure depletes the same resources creativity needs, where identity keeps shifting and imposter syndrome keeps showing up, where you are trying to build something sustainable but have not quite figured out what that looks like for your specific body and life.

This workbook guides you through the my Creative Health Cartography framework, developed over twenty years of research, interviews, and direct work with hundreds of creative people.

Each Land covers a distinct area where health and creativity meet.

  • The Land of Process explores how health affects the way you actually make things: your routines, your ability to start and finish, your relationship to flow, what disrupts you and what helps.
  • The Land of Medium looks at how health shapes your relationship to your materials and forms, including adaptations you have made, mediums you have lost access to, and what it means to keep finding ways to make.
  • The Land of Content examines what you create about, including how much of your real experience you allow into the work, where you draw the line, and what it costs to keep drawing it there.
  • The Land of Productivity addresses capacity, energy, output, and pace. Not the productivity culture version, but an honest look at what sustainable creative output actually looks like when your capacity is not consistent.
  • The Land of Identity works through your sense of yourself as a creative person: where it came from, what threatens it, how health has shaped it, and how you keep claiming or reclaiming it.
  • The Land of Business and Sustainability looks at the financial and structural realities of maintaining a creative practice, including pricing, self-promotion, burnout, and what you actually need in place to keep going.

Each section includes context that situates your experience within a larger pattern, reflection questions drawn from the same interview framework used in personalized Creative Health Maps, a self-assessment, and space to write. The workbook is designed to be worked through over time, returned to as things shift, and used as a living document rather than a one-time exercise.
